Important Information and Reminders for SSYBL

Coaches, Players and Parents-

1) PLAYING TIME ROTATION MATRIX needs to be followed. If you have 10 players- each player plays 4 segments, 9 players-4 players play 5 segments and 5 players play 4 segments, 8 players-Each player plays 5 segments, 7 players -5 players play 6 segments and 2 players play 5 segments, 6 players- 4 players play 7 segments and 2 play 6 segments. You also need to sub only at the 15, 10, 5 minute mark following the rotation for that time period. Coaches cannot pick and choose when players play. Also mix it up to give all kids a chance to start and finish a game.

2) Clock will stop with 2 minutes remaining in each half, only if the score difference is 9 points or less. If a team is winning by 10+ points the clock keeps running.

3) No games will end in a tie. If after regulation a game is tied,  a 2-minute overtime is played. If after that OT the score is still tied then its first basket wins (free throw or shot).

4) The Home team supplies a person to keep track of fouls and the Visiting team supplies a person to run the clock. We need fouls and timeouts kept.

5) For all levels, if you are winning by 10 points or more you cannot pick up on defense higher than the 3-point line. Also, if you are winning by that much, this is time to work on your offense and  be disciplined. Some ideas: tell players only dribble with off hand,  have players make 5-7 passes before shooting, only do lay-ups, etc.  This is not a time to keep running fast breaks. RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT.

6) COACHES: IF YOU ARE THE WINNING TEAM YOU NEED TO RECORD YOUR SCORE  BY 6 PM THAT SAME DAY. See the game results link above.

7) Tournament brackets will be released the week before the tournament starts.

Thank you for all that you do to make our program successful!
